Day 2- Mother Nature

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I love the seasons for different reasons, but I definitely love fall the most. Winter brings with it scary roads, less time outside, extra pounds to carry, bare brown landscapes, and months of not going home. I was most concerned about the scary roads today because we are driving back to the mitten for Christmas, and Mother Nature has been dropping major snow all around us.

Imagine my childish delight when I woke up this morning to a lovely dusting of snow on my lawn, bordered by completely clear roads. This is the best winter has to offer :). I hope that people in other areas of the country can find some joy in being snowed in with the people they love. A fire, maybe. A cup of hot chocolate. Pajamas all day. Board games and movies and blankets, oh my!

Thank you, Mother Nature, you made my day.
